A Safe, Comfortable Way to Stop Using Stimulants

If you or someone you love is struggling with stimulant use, whether it’s cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, or prescription drugs like Adderall, Ritalin, or Vyvanse, The Coleman Institute offers an outpatient detox program that can help you begin your recovery from stimulants safely and with confidence.

Signs of stimulant use may include:

  • Sudden bursts of energy
  • Changes in eating patterns
  • Changes in sleep patterns
  • Dilated pupils or rapid speech
  • Risky or impulsive behavior
  • Financial or legal troubles
  • Withdrawing from life’s responsibilities

Our team understands how difficult it can be to stop using stimulants. We’ve created an outpatient detox experience that supports your needs without requiring a hospital stay or weeks away from your daily life.

Facts About Stimulant Use

  • Stimulants like cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, and prescription medications (Adderall, Ritalin, Vyvanse) can lead to physical dependence and addiction.
  • Stimulant use can significantly impact brain chemistry, emotional stability, and physical health over time.
  • According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), stimulant-related overdoses have increased in recent years, especially when combined with other substances.
  • People may begin using stimulants to enhance focus, boost energy, or improve mood, but consistent use can quickly lead to compulsive behaviors and serious health risks.
  • Detox is a critical first step toward lasting recovery and should be medically supervised for safety and effectiveness.

Withdrawal from stimulants such as, but not limited to, cocaine, meth, and amphetamine salts can be emotionally and mentally taxing.

A More Comfortable Path to Recovery

Symptoms of withdrawal may include:

  • Fatigue and low energy
  • Depression, anxiety, or mood swings
  • Restlessness or irritability
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Intense cravings

We’ve designed our outpatient stimulant detox program to ease these symptoms with medical support, targeted comfort medications, and daily check-ins, helping you feel stable and supported from the very beginning.

What to Expect During Stimulant Detox

Our program typically takes 7 days to complete, and we offer additional weeks of follow-up support to help you stay on track.

Week 1: Detox & Stabilization

  • Day 1: In-office medical assessment, lab work, EKG, and a customized treatment plan with comfort medications
  • Days 2 – 3: In-person visits for symptom monitoring and medication adjustments
  • Days 4 – 7: Telehealth or in-office check-ins as your symptoms improve

Most patients are cleared to return to work and drive by Day 5 once medications have been tapered and symptoms are managed.

Week 2-4: Continued Support

  • Day 1: Weekly provider appointments (in-person or virtual) to support long-term success
  • Days 2 – 3: Case management follow-ups for up to 6 months to help you maintain sobriety
