What To Expect From Our Percocet® Detox Program In Richmond, VA

Before Your Appointment:

We ask all of our patients to stop taking their Percocet® 16 to 48 hours before their first scheduled appointment, based on guidance from our physicians. We also ask that all patients have a support person with them who can be present for the duration of the detox program and for 48 hours after detox is completed. Patients undergoing our Percocet® detox treatment should not drive motor vehicles and should be monitored at all times to ensure their safety.

Your 1st Appointment:

When you arrive at your first appointment at our Richmond, VA facility, you will be in mild withdrawal from stopping your Percocet® use 16 to 48 hours prior to the appointment. One of our licensed, experienced practitioners will give you a regimen of comfort medications in doses tailored to your specific needs throughout the day to help alleviate your withdrawal symptoms. You will also receive micro-dose Naltrexone.

Intermediate Appointments:

Final Appointment:

This final appointment of the detox process typically takes around 6 to 8 hours, during which time you will be monitored closely to ensure treatment is going as it should. Some patients opt to have Naltrexone injections, while others choose Naltrexone implants. Why The Coleman Institute’s Percocet® Detox Program – The Fast And Comfortable Option

Most people cannot stop using Percocet® without experiencing physically and mentally distressing withdrawal symptoms. People who try to self-detox usually quickly learn that they’ll need professional help through medical detoxification to stop using Percocet® successfully. Here are some common Percocet® detox options in the Richmond, VA area:

Self-Detox:

Stopping use of Percocet® on your own can be both uncomfortable and dangerous. This is an inpatient detoxification process where a hospitalized patient is put under general anesthesia and given intravenous doses of opioid antagonists. As the name suggests, this method can fully flush the drugs out of a patient’s system very quickly, often in as little as five minutes. However, this detox method is extremely expensive and can come with serious medical risks. There have been some fatalities reported after this treatment. The Coleman Institute has not offered Ultra Rapid Detox since 2001 because of the potential risks.

Methadone or Buprenorphine:

Methadone and Buprenorphine can be very useful in helping people suffering from Percocet® addiction by transitioning them away from their Percocet® use to this legal (when prescribed) alternative. When given under the supervision of an experienced professional, these drugs can be very effective. But this form of Medication-Assisted Treatment can result in the challenge of having to detox off of the Methadone or Buprenorphine once the patient is ready to stop using opioids altogether. Because these substances are still opioids, they can result in withdrawal symptoms when usage is stopped. Most patients who have tried this method say that detoxing off of Methadone or Buprenorphine can be more difficult than withdrawing from other opioids.
